Inspiration and room analysis
Measure the room roughly and note the architectural particulars: large glazed areas, sloping ceilings, the floor material. Put together a moodboard of what appeals to you.
The effect of an eggersmann kitchen is decided by its material. We work with natural stone such as quartzite, serpentinite or Nero Assoluto granite, with book-matched wood veneers, with lacquer, metal and Corian.
Every slab of natural stone is unique. That is why we sample before anything is manufactured: a stone that convinces in a sample box can look entirely different in a Hamburg period flat with high ceilings than in a new build with a view of the Elbe. How differently it turns out is shown in our kitchen projects.
eggersmann supplies the manufactory, we supply the planning. Exclusive kitchens and interiors have been a family matter here for four decades. Our team plans, coordinates the trades and sees the installation through to handover, working alongside architects where they are involved. What that includes is set out on our service page, and the people behind it are on our team page.
We plan across the whole of Hamburg, in Blankenese, Othmarschen, Harvestehude, Eppendorf, Winterhude, Uhlenhorst, Wellingsbüttel and the HafenCity, and throughout the metropolitan region. We also supply holiday properties further afield: our kitchens stand from Copenhagen through Spain to Barbados.
Photographs show the form, not the feel. How a ground stone edge responds to the hand, how a drawer runs under load, how a veneer behaves in daylight – that only becomes clear in person.
At our studio at Ilsenweg 3a in 22395 Hamburg you can see and sample materials, surfaces and fittings together with us. Please bring what will shape the room later: the floor plan, photographs, and ideally a sample of your flooring. Appointments are arranged through our contact page.
The range runs from the reduced, handleless kitchen to a composition built on strong materials. Three examples from our own projects.
In the penthouse on the Alster an island in phyllite natural stone carries the room, with tall units in sandblasted oak and a seamless mitred transition to the side panels. In the loft at the Elbphilharmonie an island in Austrian serpentinite stands before tall units in silver-black oak, with a concealed door to the back kitchen. And in a villa in Hamburg, an island in Carbono quartzite meets mirrored glass fronts and graphite tall units.
The technology takes second place throughout: appliances from Gaggenau and V-ZUG disappear behind fronts, or are placed deliberately where they add to the architecture. The full list of manufacturers we carry is on our brands page, and our kitchen studio in Hamburg is introduced on a page of its own.
How an eggersmann kitchen performs day to day, which models exist and how it compares with other manufactories is something buyers rightly want to know before they commit. We go through this openly in the first conversation, with projects we have built ourselves rather than with brochure photographs.
Every eggersmann kitchen is made to measure, so there is no catalogue figure. Four things shape the scope above all.
First the choice of material: a rare quartzite behaves differently in quarrying and fabrication than a lacquer front or a veneer. Then the technical interior, such as electrically opening drawers, lighting inside the carcass or made-to-measure solid wood inserts. The appliance package ranges from a restrained basic specification to a fully integrated kitchen with Gaggenau or V-ZUG. And finally the building work: connections, ventilation, the structural load of heavy stone slabs and access in a period building.
We clarify these points in the first conversation and develop an individual proposal from them.
From the first conversation to installation – this is how a project runs with us.
What materials is the eggersmann Unique series made from?
The Unique series is built primarily from natural stone – granite, marble, slate and quartzite – but it is also available in solid ceramic, stainless steel and through-coloured surfaces. Fronts and work surfaces use the same material, which is what gives the kitchen its monolithic appearance.
How much care does an eggersmann stone kitchen need?
That depends on the stone. eggersmann seals all natural stone at the factory using current methods. Quartzite and granite are extremely resistant to everyday use; marble is softer and reacts to acid, so it takes on a patina. We say which stone suits which household before you choose.
Can I take an eggersmann kitchen with me when I move?
Yes. Because the carcasses are built to a high standard and the system is modular, elements can be dismantled, replanned and installed in a new property. How much of it transfers depends on the new floor plan, which is worth looking at before the move rather than after.
Is there a warranty on eggersmann kitchens?
Beyond the statutory warranty, eggersmann grants extensive guarantees on the carcass and the mechanical components through its certified premium partners. The exact terms are set out in your quotation, and we are your point of contact for any claim.
What sets eggersmann apart from other kitchen manufacturers?
eggersmann works without a fixed grid: dimensions, materials and details follow the room rather than a catalogue. Manufacturing takes place in Germany, to the millimetre, which is why difficult rooms can be solved rather than worked around.
Where can I see eggersmann kitchens in Hamburg?
At our studio at Ilsenweg 3a in 22395 Hamburg, where we sample materials and surfaces together with you. We work by appointment only, which you can arrange through our contact page. Evening and weekend appointments are possible.
Does weisselberg plan outside Hamburg?
Yes. Alongside the city itself we cover the Hamburg metropolitan region, and we deliver abroad on request – our kitchens stand from Copenhagen through Spain to Barbados. For larger projects we plan and install beyond that too.
An eggersmann kitchen is not a trend but a statement for clear design, craftsmanship and uncompromising materials. What matters is that planning, manufacture and installation run together in one place. That is what we stand for in Hamburg. Talk to us – we will take the time for your project.
