What has stayed constant is an attitude: there is no fixed grid a room has to submit to. Each project begins instead with the survey, the floor plan and the sightlines.<\/p>\n<h3>Built without a standard grid<\/h3>\n<p>Carcasses, fronts and work surfaces are drawn to the millimetre and manufactured in Germany. Joints, mitres and transitions follow the plan, not the catalogue. That is precisely why difficult situations can be solved with eggersmann: period walls that are out of true, sloping ceilings, floor-to-ceiling glazing.<\/p>\n<h3>The Unique collection<\/h3>\n<p>This attitude is clearest in the Unique collection. We work with natural stone such as quartzite, serpentinite or Nero Assoluto granite, with book-matched wood veneers, with lacquer, metal and Corian.<br \/>\nEvery slab of natural stone is unique. That is why we sample before anything is manufactured: a stone that convinces in a sample box can look entirely different in a Hamburg period flat with high ceilings than in a new build with a view of the Elbe. Three examples from our own projects.<br \/>\nIn the <a href=\"https:\/\/weisselberg.com\/projekte\/penthouse-an-der-alster\/\">penthouse on the Alster<\/a> an island in phyllite natural stone carries the room, with tall units in sandblasted oak and a seamless mitred transition to the side panels. In the <a href=\"https:\/\/weisselberg.com\/projekte\/loft-elbphilharmonie\/\">loft at the Elbphilharmonie<\/a> an island in Austrian serpentinite stands before tall units in silver-black oak, with a concealed door to the back kitchen. And in a <a href=\"https:\/\/weisselberg.com\/projekte\/villa-hamburg\/\">villa in Hamburg<\/a>, an island in Carbono quartzite meets mirrored glass fronts and graphite tall units.<br \/>\nThe technology takes second place throughout: appliances from Gaggenau and V-ZUG disappear behind fronts, or are placed deliberately where they add to the architecture.
